The Event:       There are two reasons for this event, the first is to attempt a reunion of all the myriad musicians, singers and poets who performed in the music room at The Harlequin Inn on Johnson St., Sheffield. The Harlequin, unfortunately, was 'redeveloped' as part of the scheme to introduce Sheffield's long-awaited ring road and is now just a piece of flat, unused ground. It is impossible to go past this piece of ground without feeling that it is somehow 'hallowed' and imbued with so many memories that I hope they infuse whatever they build on there with the shades of the former musicians who are now  'uncontactable'.

The second reason is that it is John Keane's Birthday! Anyone who has visited The Harlequin in the past will be familiar with John, Sheffield's adopted southerner with a proud Irish ancestry, a loud voice and a regular contributor to the swearbox. No-one else can hold together a session with quite the inimitable style that John possesses, and John himself will be running this event.
